Shaw Brothers produced a series of five films based on "Journey to the West": a quartet of films directed by Ho Meng-Hua in the 1960s - "Journey to the West," "Princess Iron Fan," "Cave of the Silken Web," "Land of Many Perfumes," and in 1975, "The Fantastic Magic Baby" directed by Chang Cheh. The first four films were well-made and cleverly plotted, setting a high standard for the 1960s, while "The Fantastic Magic Baby" was considered rough and not up to par. The series concluded in 1991 with Chang Cheh's film "Go West to Subdue Demons."
Personal collection, with added subtitles and 4K version of "The Fantastic Magic Baby."
